You're OK. You may be better than that someday but right now all I see is a guy who is so worried about what everybody else thinks of him that he's no real belief in himself. I mean, did you even wonder why I told you to do your own evaluation?
Climb up! I want you to think about yourself. And I mean really THINK. What you're are good at. What you're suck at. And I want you to put it down on paper. And not so I could see it. Not so anybody else could see it. But so YOU could see it. Because ultimately you don't have to answer to me. You don't have to answer to Kelso. You don't even have to answer to your patients for God's sake. You only have to answer to one guy newbie. And that's you.
Here. You are evaluated.

Weeee.. SW security bugs are getting boring...
Now is time for HW to step up. https://lwn.net/Articles/742744/ and then https://lwn.net/Articles/742999/. 2018 has already made its mark in security history (technically 2017 did but 2018 got all the glory).
Let's see if the focus of security exploit will be shifted towards HW after this. Both DRAM and CPU have exploits. The firmware thingy "IME" (which belongs to the motherboard or CPU chipset) does. IoT should be renamed to IoET or the Internet of Exploitable Things. Perhaps GPU next?
Or perhaps with out of order execution (which is CPU design textbook at this point) being a security flaw, maybe there will be some innovation in the CPU design area.
