The idea occured a long time ago but I managed to procastinate until the (hopefully) end of the pandemic. There's a bunch of things that the book predicts right, guess human behavior is not so unexpected after all.

The premise of the book is interesting because there's a pandemic before the events of the book, which set out regulations for the next epidemic. And it's efficient: the moment an unknown virus was found, and that's just a few hours after Badri collapsed, Oxford was quarantined. Compare that the the mess at the beginning of 2020.

Of course people weren't happy about it. And of course the Americans were the loudest with their freedom and stuff (and they incidentally also contributed most casualties in the last pandemic it seems, naturally).

There were also face masks (which should be rather normal at least in East Asia until all the pro-Covid go all out), HNS regulation. And of course toilet paper became an issue!

Even EU (or rather EC) skeptics were in the book, blaming foreigners for the disease in England. If Brexit didn't happen, the same events may have happened in real life too.

The pro-virus people on religious grounds were in the book too (New Hindu) at least in passing. There was also dumb leader, but at least he was not in control of healthcare.

Except that it does not allocate one IP. It gives a network prefix and the host can choose an IP for itself (and probably will be asked by the router with ARP, I mean NDP, when the router receives a packet targetting an known IP in known prefix). DNS is still in RA though.
